How it works

The services offered by wine-auctions.it are user-friendly and quick. You can see the products in the auctions freely without having to register. If you would like to join the auctions, you have to register before (the registration is free).

The steps that lead to the purchase or the sale of a product are the following ones:

Wine Auctions acts as a mediator in the payment process for safeguarding both buyers and sellers.
Every user, buyer or seller, will pay or receive money from Wine Auctions which aims to safeguard product quality and to verify correctness of payments and deliveries.

Search

The search for a product can be made through the user-friendly search engine on the left part of the homepage.  If you select one or more fields such as type, year, provenance, and if you insert the name of a producer, the search will be more effective and flexible.

Users' Registration

The registration is absolutely free. Once the request fo registration has been forwarded, the user will receive an e-mail asking for the registration confirmation. Therefore, the user must enter a valid e-mail address to complete the procedure of the registration correctly. Each registered user can benefit from a real ‘control panel’ with which he can modify his profile, view all the auctions he joins, his transaction history (the details of the product and of the users), the favourites (the product list the user would like to monitor), and the feedback.

Products in the Auction

Wine-auctions.it gives you the opportunity to sell or to buy white wine, red wine, dessert wine, whiskey, rum, grappa, grape brandy, Cognac, Armagnac, Calvados, fruit distillates, sparkling wine and Champagne. If a user would like to sell a bottle, he has to fill in a specific form with all the technical specifications and some photos of the product (one at the front, a full front, one in profile, one of the reverse side). Then, the opening price, the price of the Buy now (optional), the costs, the shipping method in Italy and abroad, the method of payment and the duration of the auction will be specified. The experts of wine-auctions.it will examine the products before publishing them on the website, so as to check that they meet the required quality and reliability standard. The publishing and the offering of the product for sale are completely free.


The Auctions

The auctions can last from 3 to 15 days. During this span of time, the registered users can make their offer specifying their maximum charge. If nobody else makes a higher bid, the actual bidder will award the product. The system warns the users via e-mail that the auctions they are joining are about to end. Once the auction has finished, the system informs the seller and the highest bidder of the positive outcome of the buying and selling and gives the buyer all the details to make the payment.

Payment

The payment must be done within 3 working days starting from the end of the auction; any delay must be agreed by contacting directly the managers of wine-auctions.it. Once the auction has finished, the methods of payment that can be accepted and all the relevant information will be displayed. 

Delivery

Once the managers of wine-auctions.it have received the payment, they will communicate it to the seller. The necessary information concerning the delivery will be provided in the confirmation e-mail. At this point, the seller has three days’ time to send the product to the buyer. In this case as well any delay must be decided with the managers of the website.

The seller will receive the amount of the product directly from wine-auctions.it once the buyer has confirmed the receipt of the product. The commissions will have already been taken off from the total amount.

Commissions

The registration, posting or any other operation on wine-auctions.it is completely free. The only commissions concern the effective selling of a product in the auction, including the "Buy now" mode. The table of commissions is as follows:

1 - 50 €: 3,5 %
51 - 100 €: 3 % (plus 3,5 % of the initial 1 - 50 €)
101 - 1000 €: 2 % (plus 3,5 % of the initial 1 - 50 € plus 3 % of the initial 51 - 100 €)
more than 1001 €: 1 % (plus 3,5 % of the initial 1 - 50 € plus 3 % of the initial 51 - 100 € plus 2 % of the initial 101 - 1000 €)

Feedback

The feedback will be required at the end of the transaction. Both the buyer and the seller will be asked for an evaluation. If the feedback is negative, the user will have to explain the reasons why, and he will have to report the problem directly to wine-auctions.it; the managers will check for the negative aspects of the transaction and will eventually confirm the negative feedback. The feedback is not managed in the traditional way, as there are no direct contacts between the buyer and the seller. The staff of wine-auctions.it will be the guarantor and the supervisor of the entire procedure of the transaction.
